Low Income Public Housing Program

OCHA owns apartments and homes in Oregon, Polo, and Forreston.  Rent is based on 30% of adjusted monthly household income.  The actual amount of rent paid depends on income, a number of dependents, medical deductions, and child care expenses.  Utility allowances are also given as a credit toward the rent payment.  These allowances are reviewed annually and approved by the Ogle County Housing Authority's Board of Commissioners.

All of our Properties are Smoke-Free.

Waiting List

Placement on the waiting list does not indicate that an applicant is eligible for housing assistance. Final eligibility will be made when the family is selected from the waiting list.

OCHA does not give applicants their “number or rank” on the waiting list. This number changes
daily due to new applicants and changes in preferences for existing applicants. All applicants will
be notified in writing when they are required to complete a full application for housing assistance.

Applicants who are already on the waiting list must keep their household information up-to-date
by notifying OCHA of any changes from the original application (family members, address, etc.)
within 14 days of the change. These changes could affect applicant’s status on the waiting list.
All changes must be in writing. Changes to household information will be accepted via email to
oglecountyha@oglecountyhousing,org. Applicants must include the full name and social security
number of the listed head of household.
